Bacteriostatic Water

Bacteriostatic Water (BW) is sterile water preserved with 0.9% benzyl alcohol to prevent microbial growth, enabling safe multi-dose use. Supplied in a 10mL flip-top vial β the standard reconstitution medium for lyophilized research peptides.
BW is preferred over standard sterile water because benzyl alcohol extends the usable life of the reconstituted compound. Unlike single-dose sterile water, BW vials remain safe for multiple withdrawals over extended research periods.
Draw the desired BW volume into a syringe. Insert needle along the vial wall (not directly into the powder) and inject slowly. Swirl gently β do not shake. Label with reconstitution date. Refrigerate at 2β8Β°C.

Frequently Asked Questions
BW reconstitutes lyophilized research peptides. The 0.9% benzyl alcohol preservative prevents microbial contamination, allowing safe multi-dose use from a single 10mL vial β typically up to 28 days after first opening.
Sterile water has no preservative and is single-use only. Bacteriostatic water contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol, making it suitable for repeated withdrawal over extended research periods.
It depends on the target concentration. Common approach: 1mL per 10mg peptide = 10mg/mL; 2mL per 10mg = 5mg/mL. Calculate based on your specific research application.
Store at 15β30Β°C or refrigerated. Refrigerate after first use. Use within 28 days of opening.
